The Waiting List: If you have decided on us, as your breeder, and we do not currently have a litter available at the time of inquiry, we welcome you to give us a call, we may have puppies available that are not listed on the website. If we do not, and you wish to reserve a puppy from our next litter, you would simply submit a deposit which would secure a position on our waiting list. Because we breed for proper examples of the German Shepherd Breed, and subsequently, in our litters, there will be a mix of drives, we do no allow potential buyers to pick their puppies. The reason is: if you are picking, you are doing so based solely on looks or color, and not the fit they make for your home, family makeup, and lifestyle. For instance, you may like the way a certain puppy looks but that particular puppy may be a sport or police prospect, those puppies are not pets but working dogs who have specific genetic needs, they need a certain level of work everyday, as a pet owner, you will not be happy with your puppy, if I allowed you to take home that puppy. It is my goal to place the right puppy for each home, based on who they are, who their new owners are, their activity level, and other pets they own. we want you to be happy with your puppy, so we want to make sure the right puppy is placed in the right home! The only time there will be an opportunity to pick is if there a couple of few that are evenly matched for what you are looking for.
When do we get to see our Puppy: We do not allow puppy visits until the puppies reach 6 weeks old. On the weekend that the puppies turn 6 weeks old(usually on a Sunday) we invite everyone who has reserved a puppy from that litter to come out for a puppy visitation afternoon (set on a designated date and time). During this visit you will be able to interact with all the puppies. The reason for this is, first and foremost, safety, and secondly making sure not to stress mom while she is lactating. Removing puppies from their mother causes the mother great stress, we try to avoid her being stressed at all costs! If a lactating mother gets stressed it can affect her milk production, which would be detrimental to the puppies, nutritionally. By 6 weeks old the puppies should be fully weened, therefore eliminating the risk of negatively affecting the moms milk production.
When do we get to pick our puppy?: We do puppy picks at the time of pick up (8 Weeks old). The reason we wait until they have reached 8 weeks old is, simply, because we want to make sure you get exactly what you have communicated, to us, that you want in a dog. For instance, if you have told us you want a personal protection dog and have expressed the desire to have the dog trained to do so, we are going to make sure you get the puppy that is exhibiting excellent prey and defense drives, that have elevated drives in general, so as to give you the best candidate for the training you have planned. alternatively, if you tell us that you are looking for an active pet, you will not be picking from the same group of puppies that someone looking for a trained protection dog will, you will be picking from the group that has shown themselves to be slightly less drivel, and maybe aren't showing as much prey drive as the others. I spend everyday interacting with the puppies, and by the end of the 8 weeks, I will have a good idea of who the puppy will be a better fit for!
Litters Currently Available: If we have a litter of puppies available at the time of inquiry we encourage you to contact us directly to discuss the litter. if you are interested in purchasing a puppy, and they are not yet 8 Weeks old, you would submit a deposit which will ensure your pick of either gender puppy you are interested in. When the puppies reach a minimum of 8 weeks old, we will schedule a time with you, to come and pick up your puppy; at that time we will go over our sales contract and health guarantee, in its entirety, with you, and the remainder of the sales price (minus the deposit) will be due at that time.
Because we whelp our own litters and spend an abundance of time handling the puppies from birth till the time they are ready to go home with you, we have become very familiar with their temperaments, drives, and suitability for work or pet status. We will help you in making sure that you get the puppy that best fits your lifestyle and needs for work, sport, or home.
